Mission Statement

Rescuing shelter dogs and people in need with the human animal bond.

Helping People Be BRAVE Four Paws at a Time
Our Story

Operation Brave Paw was started by students at Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine with the goal of matching shelter dogs in need to humans in need. We wanted to provide animals that were trained as companion dogs to serve veterans and children who could benefit tremendously from experiencing the human animal bond. In doing so we hope to enhance the quality of life for both sides of the match, raise awareness and promote physical and emotional wellbeing within the community.

Each of our applicants and shelters dogs go through a strenuous application to be selected. Once selected, the dog must go through extensive training. We provide all medical and daily care for the dogs in the program as well as provide a welcome home kit for the new owner. We provide this all completely free of charge to the new owner with the only requirement being providing unconditional love to their new companion.
